We seek out authentic Japan, honoring the maker, the story and the depth of the craft, and bring to the world pieces that discerning hands will recognize at once as the one.日本の本物を、作り手の名と物語、手仕事の深さごと選び抜き、世界の目利きが「この一本だ」と迎えたくなる一品として届けます。
What we hold to私たちが守ること
We name the maker and distinguish the photographed individual pieces from representative images. We show what the available records establish, and where a question remains.作り手の名を示し、販売個体の写真と見本の写真を区別します。資料で分かることと、まだ確認したいことを伝えます。
We put the maker's name, workshop and words first, and show the depth of the work. We give you the facts a cook needs, from length and weight to steel and care, and treat the craft of cooking with respect.作り手の名前・工房・言葉を前に出し、仕事の深さまで伝えます。寸法や重さ、鋼、手入れなど、道具として選べる事実をお渡しし、料理の所作に敬意を払います。
We let space, shadow and the beauty of use speak, rather than symbols added for effect.間、陰翳、用の美で伝えます。記号を飾りとして足しません。
A single standard for our photographs, our words and the entire experience, close enough to feel the blade in your hand. If something falls short, we make it right.写真、言葉、体験までひとつの基準で。手に取る感覚まで届け、基準に届かなければ見直します。
We choose pieces made to be used, kept and handed on, and care for the patrons we serve, the makers' next good work, and a house built to endure.使い、持ち続け、次へ渡せる一点を選び、迎えてくださる方、作り手の次の良い仕事、続いていく商いを大切にします。

Our photographs let you inspect visible details. A full physical inspection record, packaging and maintenance arrangements should be confirmed before an order.写真では目に見える細部を確認できます。個体の検品記録、梱包、修理・手入れの対応は、ご注文前の確認事項です。
Why it matters nowいま、受け継ぐということ
Takefu Knife Village describes a time when ageing makers and a shortage of successors put the craft at risk. Today, it also describes young people gathering to learn. At Nigara, a new generation works alongside established makers.
